The November issue of Mode features “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” co-star Caroline Rhea on its cover. The congenial, transplanted Canadian speaks about her friendship with “The Practice” star Camryn Manheim, her upcoming marriage next year and, of course, fashion.
“I’m really big on color,” she says in the cover story. “I’m sooo not into that uniform thing. I totally get off on feminine sexy styles.”
If you think Mewtwo is an Irish band with a singer named Bono, chances are you haven’t been near a child in the past year. This week’s Time magazine explores Pokemania in a cover story. A hero to children and possibly the bane of their parents’ lives, Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri tells Time that as a child, he enjoyed searching for and collecting insects. He likens the Pokemon craze to his childhood hobby. “Everything I did as a kid is kind of rolled into one thing, Pokemon,” he says.”Every new insect was a wonderful mystery. And as I searched for more, I would find more. . . . A fish pond would become an arcade center.”
Entertainment Weekly features an interview with “Mambo No. 5” dude Lou Bega. Just 24, the Sicilian-Ugandan-German singer claims not to be much of a ladies man. So, why the string of women’s names in his hit single? Reporter Chris Willman writes, “All the names reeled off in `Mambo’ do belong to past consorts, though their phonetic qualities determined who made the cut. `Names that don’t sound good would spoil the song,’ (Bega) says. `I met these girls in Italy and Germany, mostly …I’mlucky they’re international names. Because if you have bad luck over there in Germany, you can also meet girls like Edeltraut or Hildegard.’ “
