Here’s what the Internet buzz was Monday about Madonna’s “Music.” All spelling and grammar are as the fans intended:

“Madonnamusic”–an Aussie for whom Tuesday came early, thanks to the time difference–managed to break away from watching the Thorpedo swim away with a handful of Olympic gold medals to post: “Just bought Madonna’s new album MUSIC. It was released in Australia today. FANTASTIC! Sure to be a big hit! Also got the DVD with the 2 versions of MUSIC video on it. Lets hope those rumours of a tour are true!”
“Farmmania” begged to differ: “I don’t like her Music song. . . . She has to change her style to stay on the top, she’s been in the ’60s too long.”

“Yasmin1” hadn’t heard the whole album yet but she was psyched enough about its release to start her post with a little rhyme: “Go east, go west, Madonna is the best. Love her music video, she is adorable. Never get bored from her she is marvellous of course she is the ultimate diva.”

A handful of supposed Madonna fans had gathered at the Singapore Madonna chat room, but no one was talking about “Music.”

Some of the funniest Internet finds had nothing to do with the music but with Madonna herself. The factoids on this page are based on rumors, but darned if they’re not amusing. One credits the National Enquirer with this tidbit: “Madonna once stripped NAKED with Michael Jackson while he inspected every inch of her body.” The sitekeeper then adds, “Do you think Michael was fascinated because Madonna was an adult, or a woman?”
Another blurb, attributed to the Globe, claims that “Madonna’s record company hired prosititutes to persuade radio stations to play her songs.” The Webmaster then asks, “Why didn’t Madonna just sleep with all of them herself? Don’t you agree it’s a pity that Madonna can’t be in every record store around the nation where she can offer to sleep with every customer as long as they buy her songs? Do you think Madonna could boost sales by selling her songs with a $10 gift certificate, good for sex with one of her record company’s prostitutes?”
