Did she or didn’t she? Sleep with Michael Jackson, that is. Lisa Marie Presley reveals all in the current edition of Rolling Stone magazine and says that, yes, she had sex with Wacko Jacko.
“That was part of it, for a while,” she told Rolling Stone. “And then it became the Def Con 2. It just got really ugly at the end.”
Though their marriage often was regarded as a public relations coup rather than a bond based on true love, Presley insisted she had fallen hard for Jackson: “I was always saying, ‘People wouldn’t think I was so crazy if they saw who the hell you really are; that you sit around and you drink and you curse and you’re f—— funny, and you have a bad mouth, and you don’t have that high voice all the time.”
Wait. His voice isn’t that high?
Elvis’ daughter said the beginning of the end for them was when his people suggested he plant a big wet one on her at an MTV awards show.
“It was his manager’s idea,” she said. “I thought it was stupid. All of a sudden I became part of a PR machine.”
A PR machine that didn’t allow her to see her husband sometimes for a month at a time.
To fight her post-divorce depression, Presley started working on songs that would appear on her debut album, “To Whom It May Concern.” The sole heir to Elvis’ fortune, Presley said the chorus to her single “Lights Out” refers to an observation she made during a visit to Graceland: There’s a burial plot next to her dad’s waiting for her.
“How many people can walk around knowing that there’s a plot waiting for them,” she said. “It looks pretty morbid to me. Morbidly inviting.”
Though reticent about her more recent divorce from actor Nicolas Cage, Presley calls him a hothead and said it was he who filed for divorce.
Whether she’s a dilettante or in music for the long haul is debatable. But Presley has no illusions about her need to work: “My guess is that I’ll do this for a while and then turn into a recluse again at some point.”
