Nothing says Halloween like gourds with fangs, yes? 😉
While my son was in Korean school, my husband decided to decorate some of them. We used to buy gourds every year around this time, but this fall, we didn’t have to. Thanks to our composting efforts, literally dozens of gourds (and full-size pumpkins) turned up in our garden. What a pleasant surprise!
We love the abundance. Unfortunately, so do the squirrels. They show up on our porch every day for a pumpkin buffet. I’ve been told that sprinkling paprika and ground red pepper on the veggies will keep them at bay.
But, we must have Korean squirrels. They seem to love the spiciness. Sigh. I suppose we have enough to share with them.
Happy pre-Halloween, everyone! Can’t wait to share our son’s costumes (yes, plural!) with you in the upcoming days…
