Yesterday was the 34th anniversary of John Lennon’s death.
He was only 40 when he was shot dead. It seemed so old to me at the time.
When we were in New York recently, we took a stroll through Central Park and saw this mosaic commemorating his life. On our way back to our hotel, we walked past the Dakota, where Yoko Ono still resides.
I was cleaning out my file cabinet the other day and found this. When I was young, I had written Lennon a letter. His assistant typed back a thank you note. At the bottom, John had scrawled a personalized note.
Maybe it wasn’t him? But, maybe, it was.
Imagine.
