During the summer, we grill almost every day: pizzas, steaks, sauages, chicken. You name it, we like to eat it outside.
For Father’s Day, my son and I treated my husband to a brand new Saber grill. He loves it. The other day, he was at Home Depot buying a few accessories for the grill and he came across this food tent by Charcoal Companion. It was cheap ($3.97), so he bought one.
When he showed it to me, I asked him to buy a couple more. It’s perfect. At 17″, it’s large enough to cover a platter or a couple dinner plates. We’ve used it several times already and it was the perfect little contraption to keep the flies away from the food. Made of light nylon mesh, it easily opens and closes and takes up minimal storage space.
To be honest, I didn’t know things like this even existed. The first time I saw anything like this was on the Korean series, “Oh My Venus.” One of the characters made food for her boyfriend and left the meal under a small food tent for him. I thought, “What a great idea!” And then I forgot about it.
I’m not sure how durable these things are yet. But, if and when it breaks, I will come back and report what made it snap.
