I sent my child off to school with a fun snack: A banana decorated with temporary tattoos. I’ve been wanting to do this since Day 1, but we ate them all before I got my act together. This time, I set one banana aside and covered it with tattoos from the film “Cars.” And, as you can see, there’s also a tattoo of sharks.
Sharks and cars pretty much sum up my little guy’s interests right now.
Anyhow, I thought I was all awesome thinking up this amazing idea and I was giving myself a mental high five, thinking about how delighted my son would be when he sat down to eat his treat in school today.
Then, I saw this. The artist used a safety pin to draw a woman on a banana.
Huh. All of the sudden, my handiwork doesn’t seem so clever. Or fancy.
Still, I think a 5-year-old would prefer seeing sharks and Lightning McQueen on his snack than a lady’s face, right?

def. better!
You’re an awesome mom. I had a traumatic moment at 5 with a gross squished banana that made me gag and now I can’t eat it anymore. If only YOU had been my mom 😉 😀
I like the tattoos! 🙂
She really tattooed that banana. Temporary tattoos are always preferable to real ones. Very clever!
that’s such an awesome idea!!
So cute, Jae!!
That’s so cute 🙂 I bet he loved seeing the tattooed banana!
He did! Well, at first he pretended that it was no big deal and that he didn’t like it. Later that night, he hugged me and said that it was awesome and all his friends thought it was cool. This morning, he asked me to tattoo another banana for his school snack! LOL! Alas, our bananas are brown now. So, they’ll be saved for banana bread! 🙂
